How Purple Yoga’s 300hr Teacher Training is different from the rest

Most 300-hour training programs are typically run either in an intensive format with big chunks of information being disseminated over a short period or as a regularly scheduled program with select days and the program is predetermined for you.
We at Purple Yoga believe that you should have the decision to customize your training with what serves you best. If you are curious about learning more about the philosophical approach to yoga, then you can take continuing education modules on that. If that is not your thing, then you aren’t required to do more training in that. But if you want to learn more about inversions, sequencing, yoga assists/adjustments, working with pregnant bodies, restorative yoga, and chakras…you choose which continuing education modules are better aligned with your style of teaching and interests.
Our program is an a la carte style training designed to put you in control of your training.
Some topics are relevant to almost all yoga teachers, specifically about your career path, and we have constructed the Mentorship Module to do just that. Whether you are a career yoga teacher and this is your primary income, a side-hustle teacher working part-time, or a hobby teacher educating your students without focusing on this being a revenue stream, you could benefit from group mentorship to help you with maintaining your personal practice as a yoga teacher, writing your 1-year, 5-year, 10-year plan, scheduling and burnout, or how to teach a results-based program for private clients. The Mentorship Module will meet once a month to allow the material to be integrated into your life. Because Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither is an advanced certification. It takes time to implement the ideologies, theories, and practices into your teaching and lifestyle. There is no fast track to your learning as there is no fast track to your practice. And you will have your mentor guide you along your way. This mentorship module is a yearlong training and can be taken twice, if desired, to apply towards your 300 hours of training. Education should be a combination of structure and grace – so every season of the training will be different based on the needs of those who are enrolled. The topics will be the same (structure) but will be shaped by those attending them.
There is one retreat requirement for certification. Why? Well, because you have to fill your cup to be able to offer something of substance to others. Your growth as a person, teacher, and student is catapulted when you have the time to reflect and retreat.
We believe that you as a teacher are an amalgam of your experiences, training, and education. Join us for a transformational journey designed with your (best) interests in mind.
